Lady wearing a huik | +/- 1650

 300,00

This antique Delft tile, dating from the mid-17th century, depicts a lady dressed in a ‘huik’. A huik was often worn by ladies when they were mourning; however, in some Dutch communities, the huik was also worn when it was raining.

The corners feature the elegant Wanli motif, inspired by Chinese porcelain decoration. The tile remains in excellent condition with little refurbishment work done on the bottom area.
